To mark its selection as one of this year's two European Capitals of Culture, the Estonian capital Tallinn is staging 7,000 events. They are primarily designed to attract nationals, but visitors from elsewhere are welcome, too.Among them is Munich author Sarah Portner, who received a grant to become the city's first chronicler. Her blog takes her around town, from the center to the artistic port district, where there are few tourists to be found.
Venezuelan Daniel Dhers, Isaac Lesser & Luke Padgett from UK and Mexican Camilo Monsivaiz visited BMX hit parade Simpel Session in Tallinn, Estonia. They talk about the beautiful city, lovely people (specially girlz!) and greet Tallinn, soon-to-be the Culture Capital of Europe 2011.

No European Capital of Culture has been welcomed by visitors from so far away during the last quarter of the century. 2010/2011 aastavahetusel olid kogu Euroopa pilgud pööratud Eesti pealinnale Tallinnale, mis kannab alates 1. jaanuarist Euroopa kultuuripealinna tiitlit. filmed & directed by Dimitris Vrakas In Tallinn was selected for the 13th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival Tallinn: the capital of the small country of Estonia, between Russia and Scandinavia. The rythm of the city is evoked through its streets, architecture and people. The film travels from the old city center to the suburbs, often making stops at various neighborhoods to hear the thoughts of Estonians. A journey to the accompaniment of electronic pop music by the Estonian band Antonina. In modern-day Tallinn, the skyscrapers encircle the medieval town and romance succeeds modernism in a country of socially sensitive people. The impassive objectivity of the camera creates a pleasant visual impression with no tendency towards drama.
Start the day in a dreary Tallinn again. Getting breakfast at Rimi. Being followed by a guard in the supermarket. Then I tried to find the Schwalbe Marathon tires at a bike shop but after trying three times I gave up and headed back to the hostel. In the afternoon I did some more sightseeing in Tallinn. Went to St. Catherine's passage, St. Olaf's church and after one last stroll around the city, I went back to the hostel and shared some last thoughts about Forever Living with you. In the very north-east of Europe, on the border of Russia, lies the small country of Estonia. Per capita, Estonia has the most start-ups; internet access is considered a human right and all Estonians have free wifi. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1992, independent Estonia had a very young government. The country decided to become the first e-society in the world: government services, education and health care are all online; government spending is transparent and everyone owns their own data. However, this digital development makes the country vulnerable to cyber attacks. In 2007, the first cyber war was fought in Estonia. Since then the country has been a forerunner in cyber security. In London we meet the very first Estonian e-resident, journalist Edward Lucas. We also meet...
